What is this and do I need it?
I attached a pic of this canister that is frame mounted under the passenger front wheel well. It has 2 crappy hoses that are capped off and they stick up inside the engine bay. Can't tell what it is or what it does. one of the capped hoses broke and found it in drive way but no noticed difference?

Appears to be incomplete and clearly not in use. It is my understanding that the fuel tanks vent into this canister that is full of charcoal so your garage doesn't smell like gas fumes. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Yup, it's the vapor/charcoal canister. There should be a line running up to the air filter where the gas fumes will burn up. I've yet to see an EB with one that is actually hooked up. Of the three EBs that I have owned, not a single one was hooked up in either direction, from the tanks or to the air filter.

Thanks, it appears to have a line heading towards the engine but nothing from the tanks so I think I'll ditch it. Thanks again.

Re: What is this and do I need it?
Mine isn't connected to the air filter, but is connected to the tiny little line coming from the tanks. Any reason I can't remove it and cap the line? I can't imagine it's doing much good.

76 FB, you ought to hook one up to yourself. You seem to have a gassy smell follow you wherever you go.

Isn't there a carbon canister behind the driver's seat as well?
