Trans cooler ?????'s
Ok current set-up is an aux trans filter to a 16pass derale trans cooler with a fan. Completely bypasses the radiator. Im pulling the old trans this week for the new one. I am going to remove the aux filter.
My question is should I run it through the radiator first then the other cooler? or should I just run the aux cooler? I am relocating the trans cooler to under the bronco.
Reason I ask is I am in need of replacing the radiator and may still get an auto radiator even if I dont use the built in trans cooler.

Re: Trans cooler ?????'s
one other ? Is it worth it to grind the shift rails on the j shift for the twin stick?

Re: Trans cooler ?????'s
Quite a few discussions on this topic in other forums. In a cold weather state, like Colorado, it seems the preferred setup is to run it into the radiator then the aux cooler. As for the J shift tabs, what do you mean by grind?

Tough call. For overall driving around I'm a fan of running it through the radiator, although doing both seems like overkill. For wheeling I'd guess that you're at greater risk for overheating cooling both the engine and the trans on the same unit.

Re: Trans cooler ?????'s
Your J shift case is already good to go with independent shifting. The T case is the only one that needs grinding of the rails in order to get that control.
