Re: Lar's Bar's Build
Let me ask this to you then since we or I have the confusion going on. Would it not be better to use the 1.25 over the smaller size do to force? How much force do you think is on that?

Re: Lar's Bar's Build
So the larger size is for the duff arms correct? If so, the normal joints for the stock arms are fine for me.

Yes, most aftermarket arms run 1.25" joints.

I'm good with which ever the bunch of you decide is better/best. I have had no time to research one way or the other. I'm not planning any U-Tube worthy type maneuvers or anything. And for right now - just one set (holiday bills are about to me in the head.... again)

Re: Lar's Bar's Build
I haven't gotten to run the Metal Cloak joints yet, but they sure look purdy. Their service was good, although, when I ordered the joints, they said it would be 2-3 weeks before they shipped. In reality, they shipped 2-3 days after the order was placed. Now, I'm getting their emails with free shipping & other offers, so if anyone wants to go with the MC joints, let me know & I'll pass along the special offers.

Re: Lar's Bar's Build
Since SPC doesn't have a joint (yet) that will fit my application, I did some more reading and have decided to go with the MetalCloak joints, in part because they make one with a 7 degree offset that would allow me to run my brackets aligned with the frame without bind. Anyone else interested before I call and place an order? The catalog can be seen here: http://www.metalcloak.com/Jeep-Suspensi ... -s/235.htmI'm planning to order these: http://www.metalcloak.com/2-5-8-OD-x-2- ... p/7301.htm

Re: Lar's Bar's Build
All this 9/16" talk has me wondering if I need to "step down" the size of the joint used on the end of the Duff arms, seems like it will open up the selection I can use.

Re: Lar's Bar's Build
It will open up a wider selection of non-heim options. Heims in your size are almost universally 1" shank (3/4" with misalignments). Nearly all of the Johnny/Ballistic/Metalcloak/etc flex joints are 9/16". It really comes down to which style you want to run.

Re: Lar's Bar's Build
You're not too late! Welcome! You'll need a set of stock radius arms. The rest we'll probably have group buys, or at least a collective order for.

Re: Lar's Bar's Build
I have a set of radius arms that need to make their way north for the build day. They are going to Eck. If you wouldn't mind bringing them back north with you, I'd appreciate it.

I'm planning to hit them up for a club discount, so hopefully we can do better than sharing shipping. I'm going to give it another day or two before calling to see if anyone else wants in. Gunni, could you please pass on whatever those special offers were?

Re: Lar's Bar's Build
Once I get the date nailed down I'll post up in Staging area and will run the group buy out of that thread. Mostly I'm trying to get a general sense of things so that I can call around to get pricing. You will need:
Factory radius arms: you provide. EB or F-150 arms are the same 2"x.25" wall DOM tube-~2.5 feet: We'll buy sticks, get a small discount, and split the cost. Frame brackets: Will set up a group buy Bungs: Will likely have a group buy, just need to know who will be ordering which joints. Joints: I'll set up a group buy through MetalCloak for those who need 1.25" shank joints. I'm also happy to work with Digger to put together a SPC order for anyone who wants to go that route. Grade 8 Bolts for the joints: You provide, they're available at any hardware store.

What determines whether you need 1" or 1.25"?
