Already have the taurus fan. I plan to run it only with no mechanical fan.

I suspect that the Taurus, Lincoln, Volvo, Quest fans are all the same fan just in different shrouds (with the Volvo being the slimmest by a very small margin).

I also think that I just unlocked the secret to getting dual speed fan control out of the Explorer PCMs tonight. I'm itching to test it now, but my Mustang test rig is torn apart and I'm too buried in harnesses to tinker with it now.

Hmmm, that'd be very, very cool. Literally. The Taurus fan is a great option, and the ability to turn off the fan for water crossings and have the 2-speed control from the PCM would make me consider this over the stock explorer clutched fan.

So after many measurements and thought I have decided to go with a champion 3 core. I will change the mounts as to not twist the radiator when the core support flexes. Then as Im doing that I will also run the trans back into the radiator and then to the aux cooler with a fan.

With that being said is the front cooler port on the c4 the supply to cooler and rear is return?

It would/should increase pressure right, but I'm not sure about flow.

Should. But will that make the pump to the cooler work a little harder? increase line pressure but decrease volume.

Ok so my next question, Is there too long of a line length? Here's my plan. From trans(5/16) to radiator(1/8). Radiator(1/8) to remote trans cooler(5/16 line 3/8 cooler ports). From there back to the trans. now I have 2 options. Mount the cooler under passenger floor(not preferred). That would keep lines short. Would have to build a cage around the cooler as it will hang below the rocker(cut off). Or option 2 is mount trans cooler behind trans/tcase above rear axle(current) but adds a bit to the line length. Would this be a problem? New trans cooler will be the same as the current derale 13900 16 pass with a fan.

HMMM so I think I may have found my overflowing problem. I checked over n over n over today. Had to scotch-brite the dipstick and once I did that.....Trans is too full. I'd say by a quart or 2. So tomorrow if it's not too crappy when I get home im gonna drain some out.

Post Re: radiator/stat for EFI
OK i ordered a new trans cooler since this current one had the thermostat quit then shortly after the fan quit. So pricing out a new fan and thermostat switch from derale it was only an extra $30 to buy an all new unit. I also ordered a 3 core champion radiator. So in the next couple weeks i will get all this installed.

My question above still stands. Is that too much line length? Since the rear cooler port feeds fluid to the back half of the trans I dont want to starve it with this long of a line length.

My opinion is that it's no big deal, you'll have more fluid capacity for the system and since its a closed loop system under pressure you shouldn't see any air in it. Just don't flip your truck upside down!

If I run the lines the way I want they will be 6-8' longer than stock.

If you make them that long you should probably step up the diameter to 3/8". Don't worry about bottlenecks at the adapters because you would have them even with shorter lines.
