Nice, I like it.

I also think I may have tuned that car about 4 years ago. It sure looks familiar.

Post Re: New addition to the stable
Not sure if this car has been around Colorado for 4 yrs but regardless it needs a tune, smells fat, rolling idle when cold and slower than normal return to idle when hammered. I need someone who knows wtf they are looking at to check some things before I rip it apart and carb it. Temp gauge is reading low, checked wiring by grounding (went full hot) so replaced sender, no luck still only 140 in gauge with heat gun at 180. Also some vacuum line issues that I think I have worked out. Runs well enough but I think it needs a tune. Thinking about taking it to automotive performance center in loveland to have it dyno tuned but interested in what you can do EFi?

Superchargers and EFI are terrible. You should trade me for my Edelbrock carb setup.

You been to PSCA races? Very few nitrous cars able to put the hurt on turbo cars.

Ya ya. And fords are faster than Chevys. And Polaris is faster than artic cat. And packers are better than bears (well that one is proven). At least it gives people something to talk crap about.

This is true. How fast or better yours is over the other guy's is just how deep your pockets are.

Just dont be so fast to jump the gun on ditching the efi tho. It may be more expensive that a basic carb set-up(unless you go blow thru) but the drivability with a good tuner that knows what they are doing is worth it. Just search around.

Post Re: New addition to the stable
I rarely do any Dyno tuning, the schedule of my day job prevents that, but I will probably rent the Dyno for a day sometime this summer when I make the jump to e85. I usually get em all dialed in on the street and just tune for power at the track. I'm pretty conservative so I won't get you every last drop of power out of it, I focus on drivability more than anything.

If you open up the PCM you can get a look at what chip is in there, post a picture of it. I might be able to tune it remotely for you if you have the right hardware, or at least get it running well before you hit the Dyno with it.

I'll take the PCM apart and see what I find.
Speaking of e85, I just sent my brand new BLP carb to Mark Sullens to have reworked. I bought 5 gallons of Sunoco Supreme for the bargin price of $12.86/gal. Put a data acquisition system on my 70' tuned it in and then decided race gas is too damned expensive for this guy. Guess I will get to retune that one again.

E85 is a wonderful thing if you have the fuel system to support it. Im in the middle of upgrading my fuel system to handle the power level im at.

I can't wait to try it out. Hopefully my fuel system is up to the task... The e85 guys think it should be fine. I'm only low 11's on engine with my car but I am a little concerned how the nitrous is gonna play with the e85. I need nitrous to hit 10's. I changed pulleys on the wife's car for more boost, starting to like this supercharger game. Maybe I can trade cars with her and I will turbo this fox....

boost is very addictive. And it's always there, all the time.

Rule for E85 is 30% more fuel. For the carb you'll need to get it set-up for E85. Bigger metering blocks with bigger jets. Alcohol compatible floats are also needed. You most likely wont see gains being N/A but it's a LOT cheaper than race gas.

Now your wifes stang will come alive with E85. It loves boost.

Also look into getting a tester to check the ethanol content. Most stations around here vary from e70 to e95.

Ya, what I read about e85 it's way more than jets and more fuel. I sent my carb into "the e85" carb guy, Mark Sullens, to set it up. New booster, air bleeds, meter blocks and a lot of blah blah and bling bling, but as long as it works. Not looking for et gains but the cost will be nice. Now, for the wife's fox, I just need her to stop burning off the rear tires and I will be happy. The smaller pulley really made a change. I think I need to take her keys...

They're tough to import. If you were going to, a Lada Niva is also one of my all time favorite cars.

I pulled the plugs before the pulley change and they were already showing signs of a lean tune. I'm not driving it until I get it tuned.

It might be a kick to own a car that's name translates to "farm field".

They used to import Yugos, can a better built vehicle be that hard to get in?
