Post Landshark's 72 Build
Well with the help of Rob (zoso) I finally went and picked up the 72 and brought it home. Just had one locked up drum brake and after a few good wacks we broke it up and pushed it to the garage.

Made in Janurary 1972, 302, three speed, Dana 44, drum brakes all around, manual steering, no idea on which 9 inch it has.

Cleaned it out a bit, removed the rat turds and disinfected it. Looks to be in decent shape, will eventually need a few panels replaced, including Inner kick panels, floors etc etc.. overall the wiring looks to be fairly unmolested with just a few additional wires here and there.

My short term plans are to initially to try and get it started (anyone want to help???) with the hopes of making it my run around for the time being but there are a few things I will have to replace or source to get it running and safe.

Long term its to be determined - i have some plans but it will be at least a year before I will even begin on it.

Anyway for now here are some photos.

I think no matter what happens, no matter what you do to restore/modify etc... that headliner has to stay!

That rig looks familiar but I can't recall where I've seen it (or pics of it)

Looks like a great starting point

I got the engine to turn over. Then I put new oil in and filter on , new spark plugs, fuel filter, fuel hose to pump.

I think the only thing I'm missing is the coil?

Image

Don't think the one from my 76 will work?

Anyone have one to use?

Runs smooth! Looks like you're acquiring missing parts pretty quickly. I already see the missing fender hung.

Try Don for a radio. I have one but no faceplate and no idea if it works or not.

Shears make short work of sheet metal.

Image

Image

Old metal and an impact make for broken shock mounts. I will probably weld a bolt end on for now.

By overwhelming request.

Fenders were really hacked. Also it gets two things out of my way and on the bronco.

So looks like I have a small bearing rear end. I need at least one drum for the rear. Anyone have one laying around? Hate to buy new when it will not be the long term rear end

I still have my old drums that I replaced, you may be able to get them machined, I'm not sure. I opted to replace them when I was rebuilding the brakes to have all new. Is there a difference in the drums for small vs big? Let me know what you need to determine if they'll work for you.
