ZF trans
I'm curious as to what kind of mileage people have found on good used ZF transmissions.

Re: ZF trans
I have one that had 120k on it when I got it. Drained the oil cleaned it a little and installed. So far it's good no issues.

Re: ZF trans
Mine has over 300k on it now, 3rd gear syncro is toast but the rest are good. I'd say most jy trucks have well over 150k.

Re: ZF trans
Awesome!! You'll love it!!
If you've done any research here, there's lots of good advice for these. Mine is always "get quality hydraulics!"

Re: ZF trans
What qualifies as quality hydraulics? I'm hoping to get mine in before next spring and am starting to collect parts.

Re: ZF trans
Well all I can really say is avoid the chain parts stores. I used one and had to pull the tranny a year later to do it again. Second slave came from BCB.

Re: ZF trans
I'd source from a tranny shop or something. Just not a job you want to do more than once in a 5yr period.

Re: ZF trans
I can get sachs clutch slave & T/bearing set the clutch master that my supplier has is doorman not thrilled with doorman but at least that's the master not the slave. Thanks it felt like a never ending search to find. Let me know if I can help with parts.

Re: ZF trans
There are two (or more) different master/slave cylinder sets and they are designed to work together with matched bore/stroke sizes.

Re: ZF trans
Sounds like you're on the right track. I remember when my first slave let go. The night before a big run. Took the wind out of my sails for sure! It started to fail while I was waiting on my Atlas to show up, so I babied it along for a little while and replaced it with the BCB one when the Atlas went in.
