EFI return line location.
I have an older 23gallon non efi tank. Im really not wanting to drill a hole in the tank and weld a fitting to it since it has fuel in it. So has anyone put a fitting in the lower part of the filler tube for a return line? Or what about using one of the evap lines even tho they are 1/4"?

I put my return in the lower part of my filler neck. I didn't want to weld on my gas tank so I welded it to the filler. Works fine, never an issue. I contemplated the 1/4" evap line for return as well but didn't want to take any chances with developing too much pressure on the return side. You're going to be running a little more power than stock so your fuel demands will be higher, I wouldn't risk it with the small evap line return if I were you.

My 23 gal tank is older too and has a drain spout on the pass side bottom. We used that as the return line port. It is a little close to the exhaust but with a 90 degree elbow and some heat shield, its not a problem.

Are you running an in-tank or external pump? With an external, you could assemble a sump that pump pulls from and run the return line to that.
Otherwise I see no problem with the filler neck solution.

Going to be external pump. I think I'll order the fitting I posed above. That will work perfect for my needs.

Verify the size of the hose first. I thought the early ones were 1.75".
I also ran the return through the drain hole on my '74.

Good catch on the size. I believe you are correct. I'll check when I get home. If that fitting don't work It's easy enough to weld my own into the filler neck. Also was thinking about 2 fittings. One for the return line the second for the transfer from the aux tank.

There is a T that BC Broncos sells to T into the 5/8" breather hose. It worked well for me.
