 POR 15 Vs. Rust Bullet Hey Everyone,
I've been trying to decide for the past month which Rust Preventer I want to go with on my build. I recently stumbled across this article in a google search and I thought you'd all find it interesting. It actually compares Rust Bullet, POR 15 and Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator. I'm sure in our dry climate each one is more than adequate. Based on the photographs, though, I think I'm going with POR 15.

Re: POR 15 Vs. Rust Bullet I would say do the test yourself to get what you are looking for. It looks as though the rust bullet had 2 unprotected ends from him cutting, so more than the "scratch" as well as the others. Being we don't live in Houstton any should work, but I would do the test w/ all 3 completely covered and unscratched to see how long if any time to "breach" the seal. IMO that would make more sense to me.
Isn't the idea to encapsulate?? not encapsulate then open up multiple areas back to bare metal

Re: POR 15 Vs. Rust Bullet Either one is good. I used RustBullet on the entire front and rear portions of the interior. I used the silver first, then a coat of BlackShell. I couldn't be happier with the results. POR15 will fade unless you top coat it but I think it is perfect for frames.
