What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Got my horn working with some phone a friend help from Phil. It wouldn't be my usual weird situation if something unusual didn't happen. We figured out that I was missing the relay for the horn. I had also tested the horn to make sure it still worked. Drove the Bronco to NAPA and tested the relay and horn in the parking lot (it worked). Drive it home the 3 miles and pull into my garage and all of a sudden-- horn doesn't work. I can hear the relay working. So today I tested the horn again by hardwiring it to the battery. Somehow in the 3 mile drive home from NAPA, the horn become nonfunctional. So I went and bought a new horn and all seems to be good again. Now I can honk at stupid drivers with my new stupid horn.

Turned her back into a "roller". Now it time to get back to work on everything else
Oh yeah, and I have to replace a spring on my big garage door, it decided to give up the ghost this morning. Thankfully my wife's car was outside.
Anyone have a recommendation for a garage door guy???

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
My wife drew up a CAD version of the bezel around the column for the dash to mate up with the new 2" tilt column. I'll try to get it printed soon and then see how my measurements work. Next design will be a collar for the firewall penetration so I can snug it up to the bracket. I'm thinking a simple sleeve will work here. I'll print in black ABS. If the bezel works I'll have to grab a Bronco logo and emboss it on the top and reprint. Should be sweet.

Got pumpkin re-installed, and compressor/wiring/switches mostly connected up.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Pulled the Mountaineer into the garage and started tearing into it. Pulled the ECU which will have to head up to Garry pretty soon. Have a lot of work to go but it is nice to be on the "new" engine for a while. Will have to redo the harness but that is good work for a cold day, week, whatever. Hopefully I can have the Mountaineer out before we get any real snow so I can get the dd back in the garage.

What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
New points. New fuel pump. New fuel filter. New steel fuel line from pump to 6" short of carb inlet.
My WH Saginaw pump bracket is pissing me off. The threaded rod for the top of the bracket, that threads into the head, is either stripped or has stripped the head. I can't keep tension on the belt because of it.
Tore down a spare cluster, cleaned it up and swapped it into the truck, adjusted for the mileage on my Bronco. Nice to have a speedo again; even if it is 10mph off.

I have started the tear down. Got the t case pulled and mocked up on the 4r70w. Had to cut just under an inch off the output shaft. Modded the trans cross member for the new adapter.

Stopped by the yard and harvested a couple of side marker pigtails from the 70 Econo. I now have four working side markers.

I'm getting ready to make a roll cage. I got all the steel that might be need plus extra. All that is needed is to extend the hoop and any extras such as a spare tire mount.
I will post more pics of the final outcome.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Today I: - replaced the ZF fluid to RedLine MT 90 to try and quiet the loud gurgling at neutral idle. Unbelievably it completely cured it on first fire up. - thanks to BroncoRaider who is going to digital speedometer and gave me his speedo cable (mine was toast from my D20 problems in Moab). Installed that with a new gear that will hopefully get me closer to actual MPH. - re-bent my twin sticks. Found out while in Moab that they were interfering with the Trans shifter while in 4 low. I had a pretty tight window where they would fit between the shifter and my leg. - did the Cherokee wiper conversion. Messed up one of them as there is definitely an order to reattach everything. That spring is pretty stout and if you don't do it in a particular order, you definitely aren't getting it back on. Cost me $25 more than it should have but it's done!

Turned out great. Material was expensive but now I have almost a yard for repairs or other projects. Only made this material one year (76) so not very common.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Sorry, I was too busy scraping / scrubbing paint off my face and arms to take pics yesterday
The digital color matching was done a few years ago when we painted the engine bay during installation of 5.0. I don't know if the brand of paint we used this time made a difference but it is certainly a lot darker than what the body looks like. In the right light it almost looks black. Mismatched color aside, the paint job turned out pretty good considering who had the gun in his hands.

Well, now you're gonna have to paint the rest of it. Looks nice. I wonder if the dark primer color affected it.
