Explorer swap fan shroud
I need some aluminum to make the fan shroud extension for my serpentine swap. So far, I've only found a 4'x8' sheet to purchase. Is anyone else doing his swap that would want to split it? Or does anyone know where I could buy a 1'x6' sheet?
Tim

Re: Explorer swap fan shroud
Remind me to check tomorrow for some in my garage. I used a 22 gauge piece of steel for mine but it was very flexible. They gave me too much so I had some left over at one point.

How thick do you need?
I can/do buy sheets of anodized 18 and 14 gauge aluminum, might be able to find some mill finish but clear anodized is "aluminum" color.

Re: Explorer swap fan shroud
Im sure I can help if 18 gauge will work, about the thinnest we deal with is .040. Shoot me a PM with your contact info and we can see what I have lying about...

Sooooo... Hockeydad, you dabble in aluminum drops huh! lol. I'll be needing a bit eventually! Keep any eye out for a couple pieces of 1/4 thick 24"x36" will ya. (front skid plate & 460 mid engine mount on project X-dezert guy!) Ive been getting my aluminum through a skylight manufacturer here in the springs.

Re: Explorer swap fan shroud
We dont typically deal in 1/4" thick, but 1/8" (.063) I can get you plenty of. By far - the vast majority of what we have lying around is less than 1/16" (.040) and it seems we haul pick up trucks full of it to the scrap yard every month....
