Post Re: The fabrication thread
New project, albeit an easy one. Am working on a rack to hold 4 corny kegs in my downstairs fridge. Might be done, if I can talk the wife into letting me drill holes in the door for the taps. Otherwise they'll get their own bracket inside the fridge. Took the opportunity to teach myself to TIG weld. I'm amazed at how much more control there is, and having zero weld spatter is awesome. The weld below has had no clean up. It's also slow, especially since my machine is lift start, so I'm grinding tungsten frequently. Broke out the MIG to get the rack finished up quickly, but I'll be using the TIG for future projects, possibly my exhaust.

TIG is awesome... wish I had one. Their great for interiors too, with no weld sparks/ spatter. Did I mention "I WISH I HAD ONE!!!!!"

Took on a side job building a 3 burner brewing stand and some reflectors to go below the burners. Pretty happy with how it came out. Seem to be getting the hang of welding, too.

Yes, good beads! I feel like I am going to have to start over being away from it for 4+ years! What a fun project.

Your welds look good Justin! I just ordered a new TIG for myself. DC and AC so I can do aluminum. I feel like I am going to have to relearn how to weld again.

Decided to take a break from building truck stuff to build a new smoker out of a spare 22 gallon air compressor tank. It's designed as compact smoker for someone with little space and will be reverse flow, so it should make some great BBQ despite it's small size. Fire box is 1/4" plate. Not sure yet if I'm going to keep it or sell it to fund the gravity feed cabinet smoker that I really want to build.

Fathers with daughters may not appreciate this build...

Daniel and his friend are heading to Country Jam in Grand Junction in two weeks....

I did not participate in this build, it is all them. Financially as well as physically fabricating it...

Post Re: The fabrication thread
So I will first give opening credit to Kinder for the original design of my cooler rack. At that time, we built the dimensions based on a steel belt Coleman cooler. I've since gotten a YETI that has a slightly larger footprint. The original design used some thinner steel and I did not feel confident putting a full cooler on it (especially while driving trails). I re-used the slip fit sleeve portion and the reinforcement arms but rebuilt the square holder out of sturdier material. Feels very solid now.

It may not Be as cool or Intricate as some of the projects here, but it sure is useful and saved my bacon when I had to replace the seals on the front axle of my truck this weekend

Picked up a new welder today. Miller Multimatic 215. 110/220 volt and good to 3/8. Need to build the new cart then back to the project. ImageImage

Made the cart and I'm going to add a drawer on the bottom as soon as my spool gun gets ordered. I have some aluminum diamond plated laying around that is my excuse to buy one. Image
