New Member in Colorado Springs.....1969
My family and I just relocated to Colorado Springs after completing 26 years in the Marine Corps...starting on the next stage of life.
Still settling into the area and have a lot on the "to-do" list, but hope to meet up with some CCB members in the future.
I have owned four early Bronco's; my current 1969 is a great driver with a few mod's for comfort and SOCAL desert wheeling (oil cooler, trans cooler, etc.); need to see how it does in the Colorado environment....little concerned about the detroit locker in snow. It was a single owner (father / son) Bronco and they took great care of it for many years. I was lucky to get it a couple years ago and have continued the updates with plans to enjoy some light off-road wheeling in CO.
Basic setup includes; 351W; 3 on the tree, chevy disk brake conversion, D44 front axle, detroit locker, working a/c, power steering, mild lift, rear anti-sway bar, one Empire Yellow repaint with some wear & tear but still a great 20 footer. The original owner removed all the badging and trim during the only resto/(empire yellow) repaint completed a long time ago, I still have all the trim, but have gotten used to the current look and don't have plans to change it unless I complete a full repaint and might consider adding the trim back on.
Great to be a member of CCB.

Welcome, I saw some of your 'moving' pics on FB, I think. Glad you signed up here. You'll find tons of info, help, and get togethers. Nice rig.
I daily drove a Detriot locker for 15 years. It was ok, sort of fun & exciting at times. Of course, my daily driving was around the streets of Gunnison, and I rarely if ever got over 35 mph.

Welcome to Colorado and to the club. And thank you very much for your service. My son is currently stationed at 29palms in CA he has his 74 out there with him. Your rig will be just fine, you can always drive in 3 wheel drive when the roads are iffy - which is really not all that often down in the springs, or anywhere on the front range really (we don't tell outsiders this very often, but now that you are here, you qualify as an insider). I hope you can at least make it to a breakfast soon and look forward to meeting you, checking out your rig and shaking your hand in person.

Detroit front or rear? Mine was in the rear, haven't had a locker in the front, yet.
