Just a caution- JM. Next Friday, the CU vs. CSU game is at Mile High Stadium at 6pm (which sounds like about the time you will be rolling in).

Re: Birthday present needs a ride back to Colorado
I have to make it into Wheatridge as well. So From there, east and south. East Side may work if that doesn't hold up anyone else's schedule. That would allow traffic to calm down before I go thru town.
Jeremy - you making any progress with plans on your end?

Re: Birthday present needs a ride back to Colorado
If John can meet up with you to grab it that will work fine as we need to meet up anyway for some other Bronco excitement but if that does not play out or is going to be difficult, I can have Michelle meet up with you to grab it someplace along your path through Denver. If there was any delay in your travels that got you into town later or kept you longer by a few hours I would be happy to come down myself. The only issue I have is that work is unpredictable for me so I don't know what time I will get off in advance
If you don't have my # let me know and I'll send it to you. Then we can text / call to be sure I have someone available to meet you.

Re: Birthday present needs a ride back to Colorado
One thing I forgot to take into account is I'll gain an hour. Google says a straight thru run is ~12hrs to Denver. With a stop to see Zack, a fuel stop and lunch stop, I'm guessing 13hrs should be about right. With the time change, that could be me into Denver between 4 & 5pm MST...
John - You have room for the seat? If so, that would awesome. If not, Eck is close to where I need to go anyway and I can leave it there. Eck, please PM me your details.
Jeremy - I'll PM you my phone number.

Sounds great! John - how far out do you want me to call you on the way in? Know of a good place to grab a bite on the east side?
Zack - talk to you in the next couple days!

Re: Birthday present needs a ride back to Colorado
Not much to offer on the east side of I70 that I can think of off hand. a few places on Tower rd. close to Pena blvd. I'll check around. about 30 min would give me plenty of time.....

Re: Birthday present needs a ride back to Colorado
I'm going to be headed to Idaho Falls some time in the next few days. If my employers okay my driving up, I will be delivering the seat, to Jeremy's house, myself before this weekend.
If I have not departed before Friday, or work denies my plan for transport, the primary plan, currently in place, can play out as it stands.
JD, I will leave the key to the storage unit and instructions for link up with a family member.

At home delivery to Jeremy is a go. I will depart KC tomorrow at 9am. I will depart Denver at 9am Wednesday and plan to stop off to drop the seat at CasaDeJohnson.

Sounds great!! Perhaps I'll sleep in an extra half hr to maintain the same schedule on the other end. I just want to miss St. Louis traffic and KC if possible.

70 is under construction downtown. Take 470 or 435.

Re: Birthday present needs a ride back to Colorado
Perfect, just my luck! I'll be rolling by your house at 0830, that a reasonable time at least to expect traffic to have calmed down? I do plan to take the 470/435 around the city.

Re: Birthday present needs a ride back to Colorado
I'll have to figure out the rest of the trip. I don't mind an early start, but I don't want to be meeting John at 3:30 for dinner...
Anyone have a rough guess as to what I might expect I-70 across denver to look like at 3-4pm on this Friday (long weekend)? If I were to do my errands before dinner, that could give me a head start on the remaining 2.5hrs of my journey.
I'm afraid I know the answer and I'll sit in less traffic if I travel across Denver later in the evening.

Birthday present needs a ride back to Colorado
Traffic starts a little early on Friday around 1-2pm in the Denver area and likely won't be done until after 5-6pm. Best bet is to be through before lunch or wait until after dinner.

Re: Birthday present needs a ride back to Colorado
John - My plan is to arrive in Eastern Denver between 4 & 5pm and that accounts for the 1hr gain into MST. This is assuming 13hrs travel time (1hr for misc. stops/delays) I'm trying to get thru KC before rush hour. I don't foresee any problems thru KS. I'll call you roughly an hour out. And I don't mind killing time at Bass Pro if you don't want to meet that early. Or I can kill some time after dinner while I wait for traffic to die down. Tell me what works best with your schedule.
I'm good with Pizza, Mexican, steak, HuHot, Ted's, BBQ, etc. Just something fairly close to I-70. Let me know if you have a favorite.

Re: Birthday present needs a ride back to Colorado
My seat came home yesterday! Zac was kind enough to bring it all the way to my garage from KC. I promptly tore it apart last night. It took a couple hours to get the seat tracks free of the rusty bolts that held them in place. I also have a little welding to do on one of the mounting bolt holes as it would appear the previous owner removed the seat with a sawzall I got a quote on having the new cover made and replacing the padding this morning. I also got the new "silver matchstick" material ordered. I'll figure out if any repairs need to be made to the seat frame this weekend and hopefully I'll get it out for media blasting and powder coat next week. It's not going to be cheap but I'm pretty stoked about this seat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pass along your results on the padding and cover. I'm in the market this winter to do the same.

I love how this worked out. I'm looking for an upholstery shop to make some covers too. SMS Autofabrics had the 72 Explorer Sport fabrics, and sent me samples super fast. http://www.smsautofabrics.com/
