Lining the inside of the tub....

So I am about ready to finish the inside of the tub with some sort of liner. Question is with what? I am down to either lizard skin, Al’s, raptor, or a line-x . I would like something with some noise deadening and insulation. Plus does most of this work over seam sealer?

Gunnibronco has documented his experience with Al's. He just changed the title of his build thread. It used to be something like "Build from the freezer". All of them should go over seam sealer easily enough.

I used Raptor Liner. 5 years later and it seems to be holding up well. I also added this to the mixture to aid in sound and heat. Very easy to install with an air compressor. The kit comes with the air gun.

I put down Al's HNR (heat and noise reducer) under Al's liner. I haven't had the chance to see if it made a difference. Unfortunately, I've lowered my expectations. There was a thread on a FB page about this subject and someone who did HNR showed temp readings before & after, and it made little or no difference. He ended up applying heat shield materials under the floor in places close to the exhaust. So I'm not sure I'd do it again. Lizard skin is expensive, and you'll need 2 different applications. They've updated their web page and it now seems to be ok under bed liner if you follow their directions. Back when I did this, their web site didn't approve bedliner on top of LS. Bed liner by itself won't do much for heat, but will help some with sound.

I haven’t seen any difference in regards to heat with line-x on my 69. It’s hot. It’s so hot inside on the firewall and floor that you cannot put your bare feet on it very long. In the winter I don’t Even need to turn on the heater after running it for 30 minutes with no top.

It does a decent job of sound deadening and is easy to keep clean when hosing it out.
