So, I picked up an Astro HB unit at the swap meet so instead of just replacing my bad master cylinder, I want to just go to the HB setup. I have the T-bird front discs with drum in the back (for now, have the Explorer disc stuff waiting to swap in).
I have the stock power steering pump and box. Thanks to Digger, I know all of the adapters I need to go to AN -6 fittings except for the Power Steering pump.
After reading a ton, it sounds like the stock power steering pump shouldn't be used for hydroboost and power steering. I haven't had any issues with the power steering outside of the box leaking and I just re-sealed it this past winter. I'm running 33x10.50 tires.
Do I need to bite the bullet and upgrade my pump? I have all of the Explorer serp stuff waiting to go on the 351w that's sitting on a stand (notice a theme?) and that includes the Explorer power steering pump. I don't think I can use this on my existing setup. I just don't want to spend extra dollars I don't need to right now.
Thanks for the advice. I've done a ton of searches and come up with great info but just need some thoughts on this last piece of the puzzle.
