1" block added to rear, thinkin it might be in order
after building my bumper and putting everything on the truck it seems a little low in the rear. I am afraid that a few peeps and some gear and we will be squating pretty decent. figuring about an inch to 2 might do the trick,
should I block it, do an add a leaf, do an X-tra leaf or buy a 4 1/2" leaf pack instead of the 3 1/2" in there now. Wild Horses offers all these options. normally I am not a fan of blocks but in small sizing they could be alright. not sure of the diff between add a leaf and xtra leafs gonna have to cal WH for that one.
prices are $65 for block $80 for add a leaf $89 for X-tra leaf $350 for 4.5" leaf pack
what says yous guys? opinions please

That is cool that your rear springs go up and down - mine stay in the same place. I have jumped on the back of my truck and very little movement. I am hoping that the cage, seats, people, etc. will make mine softer :). So in a long-winded answer - I would go block because you know those springs move - the 4.5's you buy could be as stiff as mine.

Re: 1" block added to rear, thinkin it might be in order
My 3.5" WH lift was for a "Soft Top" version, so I got a 10 leaf spring pack for the rear and it was always low in the rear. So, the fix I came up with was to add the 7 degree bushings / wedges and also added a 5/8" thick block and used longer spring pack bolts. I machined the block to fit between the Angle shim and the spring pak. With the 5/8" block I also did not have to buy new U Bolts and only had to buy new leaf pack bolts from High Country for $12 Now its good and also took out the Driveshaft Harmonic at Highway speeds.

ENT: yes those will all make a diff. funny thing is that when i put the lift on I was worried about it being stinkbug. added fam cage, rear seat, hard top and now a couple hundred pounds of bumper with a 33 hanging on it and it is starting to go the other way.
GMAN I am going to closely look at what is needed to balance it out. The 1.5" block from WH comes with U bolts for the $65(+ shipping of course)
I already have the 7 deree shims in it so I will have to decide how all that is gonna work out. If I throw enough money at this dang truck I might get al the little bugs worked out. But what fun is that to say that it is done?

If the $65 is the Heavy Duty U Bolts - that is worth the upgrade by itself. I have them and they are the biggest U Bolts I have ever seen - except on Big Foot of course.

Re: 1" block added to rear, thinkin it might be in order
Even though the blocks are small, I still don't trust them. I would spend the money and do it right the first time. I have seen 3 cases where blocks have failed by either negligence in maintenance, installation or just a plain faulty block. If it were me, and I wanted the best ride, I might look at BC's 9-pack leaf setup. It costs a little more than the WH ($$390 vs. $340) but the ride is softer.

As for the add a leaf...don't do it. I bought my bronco and went for the lift I could afford (right out of college). It is a horrible ride and doesn't flex much! As others said, I would go for the right springs first. It will be costing me more money here in the new future!
My 2 cents....still worth nothing!

If you decide to go with 4.5" springs and want to sell your 3.5's let me know. I may be interested.
