Another New Guy!
REGISTRATION APPROVED! Hi, I’m Scott. I was in my basement the other day and began to think that I might have a problem. I think there were a few EB Dana 44s, rear axles, at least one transfer case - maybe two, a couple of doors, radius arms, tailgate, you know, a lot more bronco stuff than a sane person should probably have for just one bronco… As the logic follows, I guess I need more broncos.
Mine is a 76 Sport, Special Décor, Ford listed the color as “Tangerine”. I've owned since ‘95. It's pretty stock except for the about 2" suspension, +1" body lift (doubled mounts), and cage. Amongst the long list of needs are driver's & passenger's floors, inner rockers, door posts, inner fenders, tailgate patch... all the standard stuff. It's pretty clean, but I think it has been hit before; there's some signs of old repair to the driver's front and the grill is tacked to the fenders in the corners. It runs; I need to rebuild the carb which is leaking a little too much gas for my taste; I'd really hate to burn in to the ground.
I've been struggling with the idea of going back to stock suspension height vs. going taller (3.5-4.5") like Zillacon's Ketchup. I'm also trying to find out if the hard top should be white or color-matched. I've seen special décor broncos with either top; if anyone knows, I’d appreciate some feedback.
Glad to be here, I look forward to meeting many of you soon.
Scott

Re: Another New Guy!
Welcome to CCB! Glad that you found the Club. That is a great Bronco story and happy that posted a few pics as well. That is a great looking Bronco (love the color) and cool that you have owned it for so long. As far as changing it (lift, tires) - cool thing is you can change it up if you don't like it!
Really excited you found the club and look forward to meeting up soon.
Chad.

Re: Another New Guy!
Welcome! I really like the stripe work. I'm thinking of something similar when I paint mine.

Re: Another New Guy!
Thanks guys for the warm welcome and compliments.
Airbur, the stripe looks much better from a distance! Broncitis (Drew) over at CB offers kits for the Ranger and Sport Stripes. From one of his posts dated 04.22.2011: "My dad, Don, actually handles the sale of the Ranger and Special Decor package stripe kits. He can be contacted at ezcoyote(at)comcast.net or 717-580-3474 for current pricing and availability." I think he has posted that he has a masking kit that will help lay the lines down clean. My (long-term) plan includes a re-paint in the original tangerine color with the stripe smooth and imbedded under clear.

Re: Another New Guy!
Welcome Scotty - Yours could be our Bronco's long lost twin when we originally got it. Same color and stripe! I like it and my son plans to keep the look if he ever repaints. Our stripes have a lot of cracking from shrinkage but still look good.

Re: Another New Guy!
Sharp rig! I think all it needs is meatier tires and it'd look great! Maybe some bumpers...LOL!
What color is the stripe? White? I would go with a white top.
