New to Colorado and CCB, pleased to meet you.
Someone was nice enough to stick a card with http://www.coloradoclassicbroncos.com on my Bronco's window while I was picking up some pizza, so I thought it only fair I stop in to introduce myself. I’m also going to ramble a little. I’m originally from MN, just moved to the Broomfield area last Fall for work. My grandfather sparked my love for Fords early on and he owned 2 early Broncos when I was young. I will always remember heading to the lake house in one of the EB's. I’ve looked for affordable EB’s throughout the years, but I was either too poor or couldn’t find a good enough deal. Well, I’ve recently purchased a 1974 Bronco Ranger, the truck is the same age as me. Go figure. It was apparently a frame up rebuild in the last 10 years with a 351w with about 37,000 miles on it. It has a forest green exterior with a not so forest green original interior and engine bay. Disc brakes front and back. 4.56 gears with a 435 granny 1st gear. 3/4 or 1/2 ton truck leaf springs with James Duff 70/30 auto adjust shocks with progressive rate coil springs suspension. I believe it is a mere 2.5 inch lift. I need to change that so I can get 35’s underneath this EB. Current running some 33’s ATs… Heavy duty drive shaft. Double heavy duty roll bar. Big ugly custom rear bumper with tow package and trailer brake connection. Big ugly front bumper with 9000lb warn winch. The body is in good shape, no major rust anywhere on the truck. The paint job is a maaco job and has many blemishes, but nothing major. I believe there is a very small coolant leak at the timing cover, and some other wetness under the engine. No drops under the bronco though, zip. I’ll keep an eye on it though. The bronco runs good when it is warmed up. My friend called it bad ass and thought it sounded like a cammed race car. No idea on what engine work has been done on the 351w, may need some help figuring that out. The bronco didn’t have a lot of power at the top of the Vail summit, 10000ft? I was only able to maintain 50 MPH toward the top of the summit on 70, otherwise feels good at 65 at lower altitudes. May need a jet or a new EFI crate engine. That’s about it. I plan on keeping this bronco the rest of my life so I plan on sinking money into it. Anyone know a good EB restore shop? Good EB mechanic? I plan on making this as pristine as my wallet will allow. I'm done rambling and can't wait to meet some other fellow EB enthusiasts! (haven't taken any pictures yet, but I have these)

Hi There, Cwin - glad you found the club and happy the sighting cards are working. Great story and appreciate the introduction. We have a Breakfast on Saturday in Parker and you will not want to miss the May event - the Memorial Day Fun Run. It is going to be a ton of fun. Thanks again for the intro and excited to meet ya in person.

Nice ride and welcome! best people in the state belong to this club. You'll find everything you need to know and some things you didn't need to know from this collection of broncoholics! Good luck on cleaning off the Zilla

Re: New to Colorado and CCB, pleased to meet you.
First of all let me say welcome to our fair state. There is plenty here for everyone. And the very best part, there is nowhere you can not go and feel comfortable in a clean pair of jeans and shirt, or you can dress to the nines if that is your thing. Mountains, plains, everything in between.
Nice Rig and welcome to the club! As others have said, you will find plenty of folks here who can help you do the work yourself or guide you to a great shop to take care of it for you. This group is truly an awesome bunch. Stay active, come out and meet us at tech days, help turn a wrench and every month there is a breakfast somewhere in town. This month it is south, off Parker road and Arapahoe. Next month will probably be up north somewhere. Keep an eye out for trail rides and events. And of course the biggie is the Memorial Weekend Fun Run, details on most of the events are located in the staging area of this site.
I look forward to meeting you.

Re: New to Colorado and CCB, pleased to meet you.
I'd like to thank everyone for the fantastic welcome to the club and to the state of Colorado. The state is beautiful and there are plenty of things to do outdoors. I have big plans that will center around my Bronco and spending time camping and roaming in the mountains. Maybe I will even find a lake or two in my wanderings! I've had a couple of Trout fishermen point out a couple of 'lakes' but they just don't understand the magnitude of fresh water in MN. Heck my favorite lake is 200 square miles and that's not the largest in MN. I sure do miss the water in MN, but these mountains will keep me busy for years to come.
Thanks for the tag zillacon! The card is a great idea to help EB owners find the site. It apparently works.
I hope to make the breakfast this weekend. It depends if I have my Bronco back from the shop. I took Bronco in to have a tech take a look at the brakes. The techs talk me into some front brake hoses (I knew they were very cracked) but it seems the master cylinder may need a replacement since the brake bleed isn't giving a lot of pedal. It's hard to trust a new mechanic, but I did drive in there with barely enough braking power to stop. Heck I drove it from Grand Junction to Broomfield will little braking power, thank god for low gearing and empty roads. I'll have to search around for a good EB mechanic that can handle all these non stock additions.
I'll read up on the Memorial Weekend Fun Run. I have no plans and would hate to stay home all weekend.
Correct Jesus_man. This was the Bronco up for sale on Craigslist. It was located all the way out in Grand Junction so I was a little hesitant making a blind trip out there. Good news was a co-worker on my team is a full-size bronco owner and member of a forum based out in Grand Junction. He put the word out and a member of the club out there volunteered to go take a look. He confirmed the basic quality of the Bronco and couldn't find any major rust on it so I was given the 'definitely worth a look' so I went at took a look. And here I'am.
I don't know about you, but I have been a Ford man all my life. I did dabble with other makes (sports cars), but I've always come back. It is good to have a solid classic offroad alternative to old Jeeps and FJ's. It feels really good to own this classic Bronco.

Re: New to Colorado and CCB, pleased to meet you.
If you stick around this group awhile in no time at all youl'll be doing alot of your own work. Zilla has tech days at his place frequently like differential setup or someone else has one building bumpers or such.

Welcome, glad you could join us! A master cylinder is easy to replace, someone will be happy to help you. I'll give you a hand if you can wait a few weeks.

Re: New to Colorado and CCB, pleased to meet you.
Come on out to the breakfast this month regardless of if your bronco is on the road or not. there is no requirement that you drive it to attend (shoot, if that was a requirement, the monthly meetings would be 1/2 the size they are right now).

Re: New to Colorado and CCB, pleased to meet you.
Thanks for the help offer Justin, it may be done before then. My issue is working on cars in the parking lot at my apartment is frowned upon. And my tiny 1 stall garage is occupied by a couple of cycles so no room to wrench. I will figure something out. Good to know Broncos are a requirement at the meet-ups. I will be there!

Definitely do not need to bring your Bronco. Like Hockey said, lots of us would have missed Breakfast if it was a requirement. Just come out and meet some fellow Bronco guys.

Nice rig and welcome from another midwesterner (wi). Like you I fished a huge lake (winnebago) back home and still don't understand the fishing out here. Wondering if you ever wheeled Dresser memorial when you were back in Mn? Went there every year till I moved out here a year ago.
