New to me 75

Postby BNC04 » Mon Apr 29, 2013 11:39 am

Hi all, I've been around here and there, mostly lurking and reading about the exploits of the members.
Recently I picked up a 75 roadster style that's a good driver and should be a capable off roader as well.
This one is running a 86 5.0 carbed duraspark ignition with less than 40k on it. 4:11 gears Np435 tranny and J shift. Yukon 31 spline axles and Detroit locker in the rear with an ARB in the D44 front. Manual brakes with Disc up front. Heim joint steering setup. Currently running add-a leaf and short block in the rear and 2 1/2 lift up front. Rides pretty decent as it stands now but needs a bit more lift for the 35's it has on it. Body is in decent condition. Has some rust in the tailgate and inner fenders and some in the rockers. there was a little bondo work done and the paint was a home grown job thats a 10 footer. Some chipping where the inserts were attempted to be made seamless.
The plan is to drive it and work on the small stuff.
Done so far-
General cleanup
Put some aftermarket buckets in it I had.
Replaced fluids
Hood shocks added.
Tach added
Cherokee wiper conversion
Changed out steering wheel

Additional items planned.
Get a family cage
get a back seat (trailmax II fold and tumble for the grandkid)
Get a rampage soft top
Replace fuel sender in rear
Replace headlight switch
Sand /paint and get hard doors I already have ready to mount.

Unfortunately, I won't have two for long. The 70 is going to be going on the block in a couple of weeks.

Looks like a great ride! Awesome to share that with kids/grandkids!
1973 Bronco, 351 SEFI, Locked, discs, 35's ZF-5spd and Atlas 4spd. 235:1 Crawl Ratio. It may be ugly, but it's slow.
