Project "Bella"

Postby Protruck15 » Fri Feb 26, 2016 6:41 pm

Hello, I have reading different links on here for a couple of months or so and they have been very helpful. Bella is a 1974 that my grandfather bought in 1978 and drove her up until he passed away in 1992. My Mom inherited her but did not drive it until she gave it to me in 1995. I drove it for a year or so and then parked it and life, work, and racing got in then way of driving or working on her...So in Dec. after 20 year hibernation and I brought out and started to get her drivable again. I took her to a shop up that I have dealt with for many years. They checked the engine out and fired her up after 20 years. No major issues with the engine. Had them upgrade the brakes to all disc. Now I have it back and have replace the tanks ( could not get them to flow fuel), new water pump, radiator, fuel pump, alternator, intake, and carb. Getting ready to start retiring the engine bay now..hopefully in a couple of weeks Bella will hit the road again and then find out what else needs Imamate attention. Thank for the great articles they help a lot

Cool truck. And even better that it was your grandad's. Thanks for the pics. Keep them coming.

Wow, that thing is clean! I'll second what Gunni said. Great to have a truck that has been in your family for so long. I'm sure you're grandpa would be very happy knowing you're bringing it back to life.

Reminds me a lot of my old '74, but yours appears to be less rusty!! Glad you're getting it back on the road and hope that you can bring her to one of the meetings to show her off!!
