Just be careful! That's a LOT of weight for the spindle, especially if the load is bouncing at all.

That looks sweet! How did you mount the gas can to the rack? As Jesus said, make sure the spindle is well supported. There are a number of reports of the trailer spindle breaking. The speculation is that they're happening on rigs where most of the weight is riding on the spindle itself.

I didn't see those pics and while that support will work from when you're not moving, you will still have back and forth forces that will try to snap that hinge off. Especially with the weight of a cooler up there and forward of the center line of the hinge.
It may hold well for you and I hope it does, just watch it closely. May want to tether is somehow because you can imagine what that would do bouncing down the highway...

Ahh, yes that wasn't clear. I like the idea of the cooler rack being mounted to the cage!
