66 Bronco Project
Hi fellas Im new to the site but It has already helped me find bronco parts for my project and is very helpful..My names Brian and Im out of La Junta,Co Ive gone though all the 4x4s think Ive owned one of each but nothing ever stuck out like the early Bronco So I decided to buy a 66 Bronco she's got alot of potential and for a 66 I was amazed that the only rust spot on the vehicle was a 6x6 spot in the engine bay inner fender..Im currently doing all the body work on it trying to knock down the many layers of paint decided to go with a ford blue with gun metal racing stripes..saw one on utube that color and it just screamed out at me..So Im hoping it turns out as awesome as that one..anyway it is currently running a built 302 with a c4 trani, has a 4-5 inch lift on it at the moment with 36 inch swampers but wanting to run a full coil 5.5 conversion on it with a 2 inch body lift, front air locker, full cage, rock armor, roadster inserts, have alot of dreams just need to make them reality..Ill keep you guys posted on the progress and looking forward to meeting you guys sooner or later..Maybe hit some trails when she's done

Re: 66 Bronco Project
Sounds like you got a great find. I own a 66 as is well. But it was burned to the ground. Well not the ground but at least the interior with burnt out. I have had a lot of 4 by fours as well but the early broncos are the best. Good luck on your build up that sounds like it has potential. By the way it looks like it's ready for the trail right now.

Re: 66 Bronco Project
Nice project, good to see it has a lot less rust than mine does and it does look like a solid body. Welcome to CCB

Re: 66 Bronco Project
Thanks for stopping by and introducing yourself! We should look at doing a Medano Pass run this summer - that's not too far from ya!

J.D.[/quote] we were up at eagle rock last year and saw a herd of broncos up there wouldn't be surprised if they are a part of this club in fact...quote]
I love this quote, What a perfect way to say it.

Re: 66 Bronco Project
Yeah, do it right and do it once. You'll need a reamer to get your knuckles to the right taper. And reamers work better and super slow speeds.

Re: 66 Bronco Project
Yeah I wanted to go with the ford blue and gun metal racing stripes but my paint guy is turning into a pain in the butt..i finally got him talked into the body work and painting/for a grand..he was trying to talk me into stripping the whole bronco down to bare metal and starting from scratch and it was going to cost me a couple grand for all that but to tell you the truth Id rather not make her perfect because Im building it for a cruiser/rock crawler Id hate to spend a couple grand on the paint and body making it perfect then hit the trail and scratch it on a tree or rock and be nit picking details..lol kinda wish I could build 2 of then one frame up bad ass and one I could beat up on but..for now Ill just build what I got either way I think she'll look nice the picture is kinda the look Im going for..

Re: 66 Bronco Project
7.5" is a lot of height. You sure you want to go that high? You could run some serious meats under that lift without any cutting! Probably 38's or so.
