7.3 L Woes
About two weeks ago I was driving my 03' F-250 down the road and it began running rough and then got a CEL (code 1316). I was in the process of moving and just decided to get moved and deal with it after the move. I got into the truck on Thursday and found some a-hole decided to try and steal it from me. I replaced the ignition cylinder and finally got it back to square one where I could start it again. I've done the 50 cent fix but I still think it's the UVCH. Any thoughts or ideas?

The under valve cover harness kinda sucks to get at. The wires leading up to it can wear through but I'm guessing you already checked the exposed wires for damage or worn insulation. If you suspect the injector drive module itself, I should have a spare that you could borrow to trouble shoot it.

Whip out the multimeter and check resistance at the entry point to the valve cover gasket and harness. Glow plugs should ohm out around 0.8-0.9 each. Injectors should ohm out around 3.6. Anything above 10 or so on the injectors and you need to pull the valve covers and replace the gasket, UVCH, or both.
Add just a little dielectric grease to the pins on reassembly but not too much or you'll wind up crossing a circuit with the goo and have to do this again.
