Re: Pray for me.....
Haha....thanks guys. I got the whole thing apart last night but I could only fit half of the carb in the cleaner. Will finish cleaning it today then attempt to reassemble. The kit came with a good blowup view and I took lots of pictures.
I've never touched a carb before.....let alone a rebuild. Can't believe haw many parts there are.

Re: Pray for me.....
You can do it. My first rebuild was a rochester quadrojet way back in highschool. The 3 or 4 extra parts leftover really bothered me at the time.
Have Fun

Re: Pray for me.....
Got it all cleaned and back together. Any pointers on adjusting this thing? It came with decent instructions but I've never done it before. Thanks

Re: Pray for me.....
Screw the idle mixture screws in all the way. Softly seat them. back them out 2 full turns as a starting point. Then start from there and do small adjustments from there. This is just the idle mixture.

Re: Pray for me.....
Well, it's back installed in the Bronco. It fired right up but then died and I couldn't get it restarted. Thanks to 2 of the 25+ pictures I took previously, I figured out that the auto-choke was cutting off all air so a few adjustments there and it started right up. I'm sure I need a few more adjustments but for now I'm happy it's running. Also, no more fuel smell, no more backfiring, and now that I adjusted the auto choke, it idles even when cold!:) I'm very happy so far. I'm still working on where to re-install the fusion transfunctioner, flux capacitor, rotary lubricator, and can of vacuum. Can anyone figure out what's wrong with the below pic? I didn't notice until I had it installed and had to do some slight re-assembly.....

Re: Pray for me.....
I have one of them on my 78, that damn accelerator pump likes to wear out a lot. but it never fails an E test. Good job rebuilding it. I enjoy working on carbs for some strange reason.

Re: Pray for me.....
So after a day or so, it seems to be running fine when warm. But when cold, it starts right up, then runs rough and ends up dying. I'm sure it's the choke, but am at the end of my rope as far as trying to adjust it correctly. Any ideas?

Re: Pray for me.....
The choke has the air opening adjustment and the high idle speed adjustment. Might have to step up the high idle a little to keep it from dying. Rough running is choke opening adjustment.
