What would you pay for this EB?
I've posted a thread on classicbroncos.com. Bronco Chat "What would you pay for this EB?". If you have a second take a look at the pics and description of this 71 and tell me how much you'd pay. http://www.classicbroncos.com/forums/sh ... p?t=173351Thanks a ton, Gregg

I'd have to agree with Zilla. My purchase price would be in the 500-1500 range. Those rear wheel wells look like hell. My '66 from NC looks like that. I haven't seen many Colorado trucks with the same problem.
Body work alone is going to set you back at least a grand on this truck, just for parts. Unless yo fab your own sheetmetal, but you did say you're not a body guy.
Might be a fun project to wrench on with this guy and learn from, but make sure he has no illusions of flipping this truck and selling it to you next month. He'd need to be an amazing body man to accomplish that.
Keep us up to date on the truck though. If he does turn out to be an amazing body man, I've got a truck load of work for him!

Good to hear from you guys and I appreciate your thoughts. The owners not a body guy. Mechanics only. I was going to sit down with him and discuss price but it sounds like I'd be digging a big hole with this. Too bad.

Looks like there are no redeaming qualities, options, upgrades, or adds. Looks like it needs everthing. I have never seen hood rust like that.

Re: What would you pay for this EB?
I posted over there before I saw this thread, but like I said on CB, one that I had and sold was 10x the truck that one is as far as the tub went, and I had a tough time selling it for $1500. I had mine on CL for over a year at that price and didn't have any takers until a guy on this board & on CB that I know finally bought it. I would say that at top price you are looking in the $1200-1500 range. The more reasonable price and what I would offer, due to all the cancer is in the $750 range. It's going to take $750 in sheet metal & replacement panels to get that to be a solid body. Not to mention if you have to hire the work done. It would be a really great project to get your welding skills perfected on.

gregg i would pay no more than a 1000. for that bronco , just keep looking there will be a better one come up , door posts are a instant no buy unless you are very good at sheetmetal work . i've seen trucks with them replaced and the door fitment is horrid , along with windsheild fitment . i paid 4500. for mine and only replaced inner fenders which they all need and right rocker panel . a truck like that would cost in the thousands to have a the body repaired because what you see is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to rot .

Re: What would you pay for this EB?
Just wanted to shed a little light on this bronco. It is not mine, but I know it well. It is not as bad as it seems, and does have some nice options. The front end is straight, and not much rust. All the rust under the hood is from an exploded battery. The door jams are solid. The only rust on the jams is where te rear quarter comes around on one side and it is just on the rear quarter metal. I think the floors are good except the rust on the drivers. The drivers floor was salvagable years ago, but looks to be worse now. The Mechanicals I believe are all good. Nothing wrong with brakes or electrical. It does have power steering. When it is cleaned up and has the toneau cover on, it looks like a decent ride. What is it worth? I have no . I am cheaper than most, i picked up by 76 with some issues for 1K. But i was patient and in no hurry. I am guessing on Craigslist this one would go for upwards of $3000 without much problems if he got it running and got it cleaned up. Just another opinion. I didn't even know he was selling. just finished harassing him about it.
