Tornado watch
Was sitting outside Lowe's earlier when it started hailing here. Some woman came walking out of the store with, I kid you not, a shopping bag over her head. Not on top of her head, over her head.
There's a pretty busy intersection here in town, Platte and Chelton, with about 10 cars up to their windshields in rain and floating hail. They DID pull the police cruiser out though.

Re: Tornado watch
We're under tornado warning here, the sirens went off about 15 minutes ago. Hanging out in the basement, good times! Lucky for us the big TV and the PC are down here.

Re: Tornado watch
Just rain all evening long until about 1 am when all hell broke loose in Highlands Ranch. Wind, buckets of rain, sheets of hail, more lightening than I have seen in one storm. Simply incredible. You could feel the waves of hail and rain pounding the side of the house. Then when it stopped, this deafening, eery silence. Just the dripping of rain off the trees and gutters.... It was not gradual, it was like someone turned off a switch...
I have lived here in the Denver metro area all my life, and that was a storm like no other I can recall, especially at night.

Re: Tornado watch
Nothing here. Just about 5minutes of rain. That's really strange being north east of denver. I watched all the storms and they were just a few miles south of me.

Re: Tornado watch
Hammered with Hail, some of the biggest pieces were pushing 1 1/4 inches. busted up vinyl edges on windows and sliding glass door, ruined the hot tub cover, destroyed about 80% of the freakin plants and trees in our yard, garden that was just coming up real nice is toast.
Have to check the roof this afternoon I guess.
Wife is not going to be happy to see all her plants ruined when she gets up.
That was one wicked storm for sure, and they are saying there could be more tonight. Oh Boy.
Everyone is safe though so no worries I suppose

Re: Tornado watch
Flew in from Charlotte last night at about 8. Ended up being about 8:45 as we had to fly around all of it. The clouds look awesome when you are flying through them in the lightning!
