Post Time for tires soon. Shoot me.
Lord forgive me. After running 35's for nearly 15 years, I'm thinking about moving to 37's.

Now I'm looking at new rims and, holy cow, look at tire prices!

It's a toss up between the new BFG KO2 (I hear they're awesome) and Cooper S/T Maxx's

What is a guy suppose to do? I guess my kids don't need to go to college...

Do you really want to go there?

It seems that 37's are where things start to break.

The next thing you do is move up to bigger axles, then you find that you've lost ground clearance instead of gaining it, so now you're in the market for some 40's.........................

Everyone said 37's need 1 tons. I've ran 37's on the stock axles in my 79 with a healthy 460 and never had any issues. It's all in how you drive it. Now wheeling with 37's is a whole new ball game. At times it takes the fun out of it. Makes things a lot easier.

I'm running full width 44 (Aussie)/ 60 (spool) with 37's on 17x10 beadlocks (GLO DIY beadlocks) Love them! Feel that I have more clearance with my axle set up than stock (I'm sure, some Internet Hero, can come up with a algarythm to prove I have less clearance, but I really don't care.) my $.02, 37's are today's answer to running 35's in the 90's. Do what you want, seems like everyone has some pro/con advice. I run them cause I like them.

I'm on 37s with the dana 44 and 31 spline 9". I play in the hardest rocks I can and have no issues since upgrading to yukon rear axles and yukon Hardcore front axles with super joints. I'm running 5.13s so I even have a tiny pinion. I'm spooled front and rear. Nothing I'm doing to them is nice but I've not had an axle issue in a couple of years. I'm not a throttle jockey but I'm not afraid to use the gas pedal when I need to. I've run carnage bv, patriot/indy/liberty, Pritchett Canyon, helldorado, green day, lock jaw, hells revenge, etc, etc. I've thought of going with 40s but can't see a reason to when I can run all the trails I've ever wanted to without breakage. I'd say do the 37s and upgrade the axles as needed.

Back to your original question, the KO2s seem very well liked.

As for the tires, I really can't offer much. I put those Coopers on my PSD, but I only owned the truck for a few weeks after that, so no real experience with them other than they felt very squirrelly on the highway. I later learned that could have been too much air pressure in the tire.

Anywho - looking back at recent pics you've posted, I think 37's would be a better aesthetic balance for your rig/lift. I hope you are looking at 17" wheels for them??

I might be doing the same when I get back, and looking quite seriously at the B.A.D. wheels.
