Post transmission and transfer case questions
When I installed the transmission and transfer case the cross member bolts were broken off or stripped out. With that said I Pulled a Stupid and had the cross member welded in. Now the original 3 speed is giving me problems so I have a few questions before I jump in head first. Will be switching it out the 3 speed for a NP435 and D20 T- shift transfer case. Was going to order thru TBP or JBG.
Any thoughts about what rebuild kit I should get ?
Also how would I go about the cross member cut out the bolts and have a new piece welded in or maybe try going to a bigger bolt and re-tap the holes ? Those were the only things I can think of.

Need lots of ideas besides rolling it down the hill. HAHAHA

If you only welded the angle brackets to the frame and not the cross member to the angle brackets it's not a big deal. The 435 is very close to the length of a stock 3 speed so the angle brackets won't need to move.

If you want to fix the holes for the angle brackets I would use nutserts.

nutserts or you can drill out and weld flange nuts in with the flange as your weld area against the frame (make sense?).

Thanks guys. I really appreciate it. I only had the angle brackets welded on. So I might not have screwed up as bad as I thought. Never heard of a nutserts but I do understand what your saying.
