I'm coming home! Well sort of....................

 I'm coming home! Well sort of....................A while back I was told by my boss I should be expecting an offer to extend my contract in Vietnam. Long about mid July I received the offer and low and behold the company decided to cut my housing, transportation and storage benefits 50%. I re-negotiated to a 33% reduction but still pissed off about the cut I sent out a few resumes. Within 48 hours I got responses to all of them, a long story short I accepted a position with a company in Seattle. The best part is I got a $27K a year pay increase and a $6K sign on bonus as well as starting with 4 weeks vacation per year including 2 for this year. I'll be back in the states around the end of September and heading to Seattle around mid October. I hope to see at least some of you before I take off but I'll be a regular visitor getting my stuff from storage from time to time.

I couldn't renegotiate anymore with my current company so I'll be back in Denver on the 28th if I can get a ticket home. I requested a ticket from the company travel agency but they need to get permission from our finance department. What a joke! The great news is I got an awesome severance package. I start my new job on the 14th. I hope the Meet and Greet is on the 5th so I can see guys. |
