New to me compressor
So I inherited a compressor and finally went to use it and saw this. Did some research and found that it could possibly be a 220v plug. Compressor is old and not much more to go off of. I do have a 220 in my garage but it’s a 4 prong. Any ideas on what to do?

Re: New to me compressor
Looks like a Nema 6-30 plug. That is 240v. If your outlet is 4 prong you can swap it. I would swap to a 6-30. You might have a neutral on your current outlet. Just tape it or put a wire nut on it and leave it off the new outlet.

Re: New to me compressor
that is a 220v 20amp plug. Most compressors don't need more than 20 amps

Re: New to me compressor
So if I build an extension and adapter I could use the ground and both hot but I wouldn’t need the neutral correct?
