In amongst my other issues i found that I have two different size spark plugs, larger on the drivers side. I will post pictures of the plugs side by side when the wife brings the camera home. Not sure why the PO did this. JP |

Weren't there different size plugs required for some different years of heads? If so, wonder if this motor is running two separate years/styles of heads. |

Different size (diameter) bigger around. Yes they were on the left/drivers side. The guy I bought it from had it for 6yrs and never did anything with it as he has a Moab special. I replaced the ones on the right side and re-gapped the other ones. I will buy replacements when I get a chance. No way it is running as both fuel tanks are lying on the garage floor. JP |

My 68 302 4V head had larger plugs 13/16" than later models 5/8" I used to know this all by heart but have lost memory from many various brands of wobbly pops. more than likely someone changed a head out when another one was broken somewhere down the road. |

That is what I kinda figured, someone along the line replaced a head. I will make it work till I can get the funds together to replaced the engine. JP |

Yep, someone swapped a head. Early plugs were 18mm thread and later plugs were 14mm. The change was sometime mid-70's. |
