I have actually used a Bobby pin for one of those in the past. My grandmother was with me at the time and I had to pull onto the raised median at an intersection.. I'll never forget the look on her face! It was at least 20 years ago and the first Bronco I ever had.. Glad the "doo" she was wearing then, required bobby pins. Brett edited to add,, time to throw some cotter pins into the "possibles" bag I am putting together. |

I used to keep a few finish nails in the glovebox for shifter linkage replacement pins. Probably not the best replacement, but it worked in a pinch. |

I had the same thing happen on a dirt road. As I pulled up to the highway, I stopped & "stole" some bailing wire off a mailbox & fixed the problem. Chad |
