Its crazy how the idea of one little project can turn in to a very long involved process. I was getting complaints about there only being engine noise to listen to when taking the fam out so i purchased a stereo and some speakers. I had been planning on making a modified dash to hold the stereo, my cb and gauges as well as move my glove box over to clear my cage. Easy and quick right? not really. the dash is baically finished being reconstructed but upon removing the old one realized what a mees the wiring is in there, so I have decided to clean all that up. Also realizing that the speedo looks a little rough, pulled it apart and repainted the needles a nice bright orange and polished out the one cover plate inside the cluster. Ya know that stock fuse panel looks to have gotten hot before, maybe i will just swap that out with a modern style blade fuse type. hey i wonder if i fabbed my own glove box If i could get some more room vs using a stock sized one, its only time right? I also need to cut holes for speakers in my rear 1/4 panels, that would be a good time to add some insulating material (sound and warmth) to that area. Heck while they are off I should just fab up the cubby holes I have been planning on getting too for awhile in the extreme rears, as well as 12v and 120 power outlets( planning on an inverter inside the panel switched on with just the plug visible to the outside. wonder if my Bronco will be seeing the road anytime soon? at this rate me thinks it may be a couple of weeks, how did this happen? I was just installing a stereo. |

Brian - I believe this is your MO, as it is for most of us.... I'll just do a little fixing since I already have it torn apart... how did this bare frame appear in front of me?!?! |

Kirk, yes for sure the way my brain works "while I am here". Good to hear from you. Best news is my garage refer project that needed to be completed is done. free nonworking oversized minifridge, that now works and is stocked with various primely chilled beverages |

Sounds like a ton of great additions to your Bronco and your Garage. A stereo is definitely nice to have even with a sweet sounding V8. Cannot wait to see pics of the dash when you are finished. Hope you can get it back together soon and enjoy the weather. You are a perfectionist and it will all be worth it. One question: What is the 120V Outlet for - a hairdryer? |

I was referring to your shaved head and a hairdryer - lame joke. I have an inverter sitting in my glove box just in case - never thought of perminantly installing it. Cool idea. |

I totally hear you on the snowball effect. I'll be pulling my transfer case shortly and am thinking "hey, while its out, I ought to rebuild the transmission, too-and while I'm in there I could do the clutch. Oh, and the rear main seal could probably use replacing, and that other oil leak needs fixing...." |

And this of course is why our spouses start to refer to the CCB web site as "Bronco porn", and our project vehicles as "your Girlfriend" or "Mistress" I mean years ago I used to pay this much attention to her, or at least she says I did.... Hmmm - That reminds me... Brian, you done with that front bumper yet? There is a club full of guys waiting for use of a certain tubing bender that you are hoarding... (Kidding - I am so slammed at work right now it will have to wait until November I am thinking) But I do want to see pic's of that dash (how about this, the bronco is my kids and I am spending all my free time at lunch thinking of ways to improve it... heck my wife may just be right) |

Did you buy panels for the 1/4 panels? I've been looking for some and just not sure on which to get or to build my own. |
