Found this company local while doing research on custom cams for my 427w build. I talked with the owner (Scott)...great guy and spent lots of time with me. They only do Fords and have quite a lot of experience. Wondering if anyone else has used them before? http://www.camresearchcorp.com/custom_camshafts.php Thanks. |

Yes they are also known as MPG Heads and Scott is VERY knowlegeable with ford Builds. I know many Big Block Ford Racers at Bandimere with Cam Research products in their Cars. I really would like to get a custom ground cam for my 429 someday (which is down at MPG) With the lifters already broke in and shipped to your door you have so much less to deal with in an engine build! Awesome program in my opinion! This is Brads 67 Coupe at the first pinks all out with MPG/Cam Research products. CHI Heads on a 460. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjKRNfcKquA I was planning on building my 67 based on this format but with a 429 Crank and I have a Erson Cam with .615" lift 304/304 duration and about 270 @.050 will run basically a stock bottom end. Shooting for 11.50's |

If your interested in how much information they have, check out sopme of the Engine masters challenges MPG heads has been involved in. They are 2 going up against the big guys like Kassee and finishing in the top 5 or better every time. http://www.popularhotrodding.com/engine ... to_02.html http://mpgheads.com/engine_masters_2004.php http://www.popularhotrodding.com/engine ... index.html |

Nice! It doesn't surprise me though...he was VERY knowedgeable when I talked to him and made feel comfortable about the recommended cam. |

Scott knows his stuff alright! I am just hoping he hasn't gotten rid of my block, its been down there for so long I am guessing it probably started growing legs at some point. |

Well my rotating assembly finally arrived so the machine shop can get back to work! I'm having them install all the bearings also so need to get the cam ordered up. |
