I plan on making all kinds of custom parts for the Flatliner Bronco, mostly trim and accessory parts, both interior and exterior. The list is huge already and contains many "top-secret" items. Some of the "non-secrets" are door handles, mirrors, consoles, door panels, etc. We also have a new hood design. What are some things you'd like made? We may market them if we feel there is buying potential, in which case we'll become an approved vendor here. If you have an idea that is neat and non-standard, feel free to PM me, as it will be a while before the ball gets rolling and there might be "prying eyes" around. Being a smaller (but well-respected) rod shop now, we want to make a BIG entrance into the parts market. Hopefully this thread is appropriate, and I can't wait to get some input! All of the parts to be made will appear on the Flatliner Bronco. Nick |

Haha It's Sooooo hard not to put the designs out there to get input, but I'm afraid of larger companies beating us to the punch. A grille is in the works, but we have NO clue how to reproduce it. We have something even better than a hood fan for engine bay cooling (more visual appeal, but will require a bit of cutting). We've been pondering an air induction to guide more air through the radiator, too, but that will be a bit more difficult. Split mirrors...LOVE that idea. Door cranks were on the list, as well as an entire interior panel kit (kick panel, doors, inner quarters). A few of our ideas need some cutting, but, for the most part, will not require any mods to the body. |

Something I would like to do to my 69 someday, but it will not happen anytime in the near future would be some tube fenders to replace the fiberglass flares. something stout and will protect the body. I may have other items in the future but too tired to think about it right now. |

I'd be pretty excited about a set of windshield mount mirrors that looked somewhat factory. |

I have some ideas for some C4 specific parts. Not sure if there would be much of a market but I would use them. |

We don't have a 3-axis CNC, but we wouldn't be above farming out the work if it was done right and for a good price. Windshield mount mirrors that look stockish would indeed be cool. I think mirrors are one of the most difficult things on a Bronco. It looks best with small mirrors, but they are more limited. We might have to address this. Tube fenders would be BA. We might have to get into that. 4r70w crossmember? You're right about that one. We had to build a custom one by leveling the frame and using a jack to put the engine at the proper angle. It was tricky, but easier with the body off of the frame. Can't imagine doing it with the body on. We'll add this one to the list, especially since we now have measurements. Thanks, everybody! This is a fun thread already. |

If you have the specs and can produce another, I would buy it. I'm going 351w to 4r70w to Advanced Adapter to D20. |

The design will need to be modified a bit for mass production, so I'll have to get on it tonight before the crossmember goes in. The initial design is simply a U shaped member with horizontal flanges on the top that bolt directly on top of the factory Bronco brackets. Drilling a hole in each bracket is necessary, but no holes to be drilled in the frame. That should make it easier for people with the body still on. The current setup uses the factory rubber mounts cut down a bit, so we'll have to update that to use something drop-in. It'll be a neat project. |

Another part I'd like to see (we won't attempt this one) is a true convertible top. Pop the latches and pull it back. I realize the Bronco top's tall geometry and side windows don't allow for it too well, but it would be a hot seller, especially if it was well insulated. |

I have been thinking about designing a console that would start under the dash and go all the way to the back of the front seats. It would; - house a double DIN size stereo / NAV system which would have a hinged cover plate to keep parking lot strangers from being tempted to steal it. - accommodate J-shift and / or twin stick transfer case shifters. - large sturdy lockable storage that should be so impenetrable that it could hold certain hand held valuables of various calibers. - cup holders for front and rear passengers. They would have the LED light rings so they can be easily seen at night. New Fords have these. - accommodate vent hoses so rear seat passengers get some heat / a/c So, when can we get started ? |

The console is actually the part I am most excited about, since no two are the same and soooo many variations can be made. I was also thinking of incorporating some kind of mechanism that will keep twin sticks from popping out of gear. Not sure how to work that one, yet. Your ideas for the console are very, VERY similar to what we had in mind. We also want other specially-lit accessories to match. Going along with the console, I was once thinking about making a hard-top headliner that would be more like modern trucks and would have storage, insulation, etc. That idea has been put on the backburner since this particular truck has no hard top. |

Understood. The design for the 4r70w would have to be different, anyhow. On the 4r70w the mounts aren't tilted inward. Actually, I have no clue why a 4r70w crossmember hasn't been developed yet. It seems to be the most wanted transmission at the time....maybe I'm just crazy. |
