Who'd be interested in a mass buy on a 75K BTU Natural Gas garage heater? I'm looking at either the ADP Cayenne or Modine Hot Dawg units. Both units run around $550 or so but we could probably get a deep discount with a mass buy...maybe 3+ guys at least. Post up if your interested. |

So I got my garage situated to work for me a bit better.. however i have one problem.. heat. I currently have a plug in focus style heater.. its not very good in the garage unless you are 3 feet from it. So I'm looking for something that will heat the garage to a decent temp so I can work in there all winter. A few facts on the garage itself, Its a VERY small one car detached garage.. very old.. but made of brick with a slanted flat roof. I do not have gas hook ups.. and I only have 110v running to it.. I'm looking into seeing exactly what wiring is running to the garage today, hoping they ran wiring for 220 but I'm pretty sure they did not. I'm not opposed to running a new line out the garage to get the 220 I need (would be great when I pick up a welder) however the line is buried in the yard and not sure I can pull another line through the conduit.. My main concerns are if I go the gas route (propane).. if I'm working on the engine or spray brake cleaner or anything flamable that it could ignite the spray if I get carried away.. I guess i could install a blower fan to vent outside.. but wanted to see what other ideas you guys would have. I can take a pic of the garage today if you want.. its really small.. Thanks for the advice.. iam in garage upgrade mode getting ready to tackle the 76... |

Gas to me is the only way to go. Yes you have to be careful with flammable sprays but how often are you going to do that? Also you can turn the heater off. My heater is in the rafters of the garage and has a pilot and it stays lite year round. No problem in the several years it's been in use. I am careful with flammable sprays in the garage as well. Anyway you shouldn't be spraying that stuff in a closed non ventilated space. |

ya i dont have gas line out to the garage, but i can do propane I guess. i will look at options around town and see what I can find. I will be doing allot of cleaning this winter under the truck so will have to rig up some sort of exhaust fan for fumes etc.. sprayed a little carb cleaner last night and almost choked myself out.. |
