I bought a backup coil....since these seem to be a weak link. It arrived and I noticed some of the oil had leaked out. Also, if I shake it, it sounds like a 1/2 empty soda can. Is this typical? |

They are oil-filled. Not sure how full is full but generally, leaking is a bad sign. If it's new take it back and tell them it leaked out. |

Anyone have a good brand suggestion? I've had a Petronix FlameThrower II go bad on me (new), and this one I just received is an Accel. Thanks. |

Yea...that's the one I have in the Bronco now...and also the one I ordered that I'm sending back. I think I just got a bad unit. Thanks. |

Fyi.....Accell Super Stock coil is $27.00 online at Advance with code A123. That's $27 cheaper than Amazon. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp ... nt=general Code A123 gets you $10 off a $30 purchase then just choose to pickup in store. |

All I use anymore is a FoMoCo efi coil. Nice hot spark, no oil and cheap in the bone yards. |

Accel makes a great coil. I myself have been running an MSD Master Blaster II in my F100 since fired up and put the old one in my Bronco to get it started with the pertronix. It seems like another option and has not given me issues. |
