soft top (rampage) or just roll with a bikini top??
lookin to get some more air flow for the kiddos in the back and have been on the waitng list for a can bac but dont think that honestly will ever happen from them. Mixed emotions on the BC Broncos top. not a big fan of the humpback Bestops.
that leaves me with either a rampage speedy top or just a family bikini.
any updated opinions on the rampage tops?
thinking for $204 I can get a family bikini top and 4 disposable ponchos in case we get hit with an afternoon shower but that could get old really quick.
lets hear some feedback and opinions.

Re: soft top (rampage) or just roll with a bikini top??
I have the Bestop and agree with the middle hump. If I move to 35's, I will have to get another brand soft top since I have just 1/4" clearance with 33's getting into my garage.
I ordered 5-yards of 60" wide grey Sunbrella canvas fabric yesterday. I am having my Mom make a Bikini Top for me. That way, I can take it on and off, fold it up, and stash it under the seat when I want full convertible. However, I only drive my Bronco when it is nice out so rain/weather is not a big consideration. I am expecting to be about $50.00 in materials. I am taking an old sheet for a pattern then having her sew on the webbing straps. I should have enough left over for her to make a hi-lift cover, roll bar pads, tire cover, etc. down the road.

y-know Chad, your leaving yourself open to considerable abuse with that sunny weather only statement! I will likely just have a bikini top for the time being since I am so cheap!

Re: soft top (rampage) or just roll with a bikini top??
My Bikini top has served me well for a long time. I have not been caught out in the rain tho. The issue is on dusty trails/roads you have no protection. I like the idea of a soft top that you can remove the vertical sides and have more or less a family style safari top. But then there's the storage issue. Is that what BC's top is like?
Chad - I've wanted to make my own custom family safari top for some time. From my experience, the edges that wrap over the header need reenforced. Maybe double layer there? Then I think I'd run the tie-down straps the full length of the top so you're not only pulling on one small corner when you tighten it down. I'd also add one strap down the center for another tie-down and maybe a couple loops to wrap around the roll cage in places. I don't care for the bubble look as you're going down the highway...

I've really like the safari style for the kiddos too. It'd be cool to have a place to store the side windows for dust/rain protection. However, when they're big enough to be in the front-Its totally bikini time. Chad, why not just unzip the windows for the extended bikini top?

I believe the safari tops require a family cage to work properly. Just an FYI.

There is a wax that is used on diving suits that helps prolong zippers too. Something to consider.

Re: soft top (rampage) or just roll with a bikini top??
For many years in Arizona, I would go buy a blue tarp from home depot, fold it in half with some small rope in the fold. Then I'd string it into the mounting plate that came with my old old bikini top. I'd lay the tarp over the family cage and tie rope to the corners and then tie it to the back corners of the Bronco.
It was kinda ghetto, but it was rain proof. By the end of the summer it would be sun bleached and frayed. I'd toss it, put the hard top back on and repeat the next year.
