Ok, may be a dumb question, as I have no experience in this area, but is mil-spec cable with 8,000lbs of pulling tension worth anything? Would it be something us 4-wheelers would be able to roll onto our winches and use for every day use? I can get three huge rolls of it for like $300? Is it something that the club would want to purchase and distribute? Again, just wondering if it was feasible. |

Don't know about replacing a winch cable with it, is it abrasion resistant? But could be used as an extension like some sites sell. |

That is too weak for a winch on a vehicle. Might work for ATV/UTV's tho. On Masterpull site, the weakest rope I could find was rated for 21,000 lbs. Good all purpose rope for use around the house and campsite is hard to come by tho. How much are we talking on each spool? How big is the rope diameter? |

This is like the stuff you see holding power poles up. It does not bend well it just kinks. Might make one hell of a zip line. JP |

My guess is it's used to pull electrical wire thru conduit, but it looks to be 3/4" to 1" in diameter, which is huge! If that is the intended purpose, I'd say that's about all it's good for. I tried to search for the keywords and come up empty. |

Thanks all! I wasn't sure what "electrical" meant in the title -- now I do. Appreciate the feedback. |
