I got a parts washer awhile back and am working to get refinished and set up. Anyone have a favorite cleaner that is non-flammable? I was figuring on Simple Green or something equivalent, but thought I'd see if anyone had a product that was better. Also, I need to repaint it and would like a finish that will stand up to long term submersion in a water based cleaner. Any ideas? Something resistant to mineral spirits or the like would be a plus, but $$ are a consideration.

I use Purple stuff, which is similar to the simple green. Works great for me.

I agree with man truck. Purple stuff works a lot better than simple green. Its rough on the hands so get some good rubber gloves.

Looks like purple stuff is the winner! Will it eat or penetrate Krylon?

I think it will if you let it soak long. If you just was it and clean it I believe you will be OK. I do not cut mine and run straight without a water mix. It would be good with a 50/50 solution but you need to experiment a little.
