Post Winter upgrades to my motorcycle complete
Here's what I planned to do..
Add a full fairing with an integrated stereo, intercom, cb, etc.
Switch to color matched bags and trunk.
Change the seat for better passenger comfort.
Add cruise control

Here's what she started looking like

Here's what I wound up doing

I was just casually looking and trying to decide if it was time to upgrade. I looked at this 2001 ABS wing. A few days later the owner called and asked what I'd do with my bike if I bought his. I said I'd sell it. He asked how much, then offered to swap bikes and I pay the difference.

It was a good deal, and removing the whole hassle of selling my bike made it an easy decision.

I bought 2006 VTX 1300R brand new. It had 0.5 miles on the odometer when I got it. I sold it with 48,800 miles on it after a bit over 6 years.

We've seen and done allot together. Utah National parks 4 times, Pacific Coast Highway, Oregon and Crater Lake, Texas Big Bend and the Twisted Sisters. Arizona, New Mexico (the pretty parts), and Nevada (there are no pretty parts). And of course allllllot of Colorado. Oh, and we hit a deer together.

Good bye my old friend.

48,000 miles is twice around the world - that is very impressive. I can only imagine how many you put on this touring bike. Congrats on the new bike.

I looked at the pictures before I read the backstory and was trying to figure out why you put fake flat six heads in along with the seats and bodywork....
