Who has been or is going hunting this year?
I'm leaving in the Morning for third season Deer and Elk Hunting. We go south of Craig and it looks like they are getting a little snow so I'm super stoked. I have Bull, Buck and Cow tags.
One week a year this is home.

I'm leaving tomorrow too. I got bull, cow and doe tags. I predict the doe is going down early Saturday morning. Somewhere close to a road so I don't have to put a lot of energy into it.

66 3rd season cow tag. I'll be living in a tent next week near Powderhorn.

I'd like to get back into hunting big game. Been Elk and Deer a few times, but never harvested.

Was out a couple of weeks ago trudging in 2+ feet of snow up above Steamboat, didn't see much or bring anything home but saw lots of tracks. Was very cold this year compared to last and up above 9K was in powder up to my thighs.. hopefully you guys get some! Brought a bull home prior two years.. both 8:15 on opening day...

Our view from camp Monday morning. IMG_20131104_094142.jpg
We had a herd literally walk through camp yesterday about 4:30. We ran out of tags.
This is my cow IMG_20131104_083419.jpg
I used my Bronco & winch to winch my friend's bull across a creek up to the road. He's just a little guy, but he was the biggest (only) bull in the herd. IMG_20131104_083432.jpg

Booger and myself didnt get anything this year. I guess both of need some practice cause our shots were just about 330 yards and we both missed. Twice!!! Oh well try again next year.

Took the muzzle loader for a walk in the woods. It had a good time. Got rained on every day. Saw a lot of blue grouse and ATV's

Re: Who has been or is going hunting this year?
I am looking forward to getting back into serious big game hunting next year, it has been a number of year (far to many) since I filled my freezer with elk and that is a shame, it is my favorite meat.
Drew has been doing his best to ease my suffering by filling it with rabbits this fall. I cooked some last weekend for the first time ever and they were quite yummy

Re: Who has been or is going hunting this year?
We got home last night. Conditions were good but I only saw one cow at about 900-1000 yards and she was on the move. We had 11 tags and only filled 3, two does one buck. The Buck was a 5x5 but small as 5x5's go. We ate the tenderloin from one doe in camp and it was great. Didn't have much with us so it was marinaded in spicy V8. I should have had another 4x4 buck but I had a misfire, got flustered and missed when I finally got my shot off. The game warden told me that second season was much better for Elk, he stopped in at our camp every evening to see if we had seen any Elk. My buddy has the photos so I'll post up once he sends them to me.

Re: Who has been or is going hunting this year?
Spent all week above 10k feet. Saw elk on several occasions but when the are moving thru the woods at mach 2 it is hard to get a shoot off. We hunt outside Ohio City in area 55. JP

Re: Who has been or is going hunting this year?
Filled the doe tag the first half hour of opening day, in the exact place I expected to, 1/4 mile from the paved road. One of my hunting buddies got a nice 5x5 bull about the same time. Spent the rest of the season wearing out shoe leather trying to find elk. Shot a bunny on the last day to help fill the cooler.
