It will be interesting to see how this one pans out. Illinois mandated use of B20 for all diesel, and VW has stated that any of the 2009+ TDI engines can't use more than B5 without voiding the warranty. The end result? VW issued written waivers allowing B20 use by Illinois residents and there have been essentially no issues. I'll be curious to see how much of this is saber rattling by the manufacturers, and how it will be implemented at the pump. Nothing I'm seeing states that use of E15 will be mandated for all vehicles, only that the EPA is looking at allowing it in properly marked pumps as an option for people to choose.

Luckily my 2007 rig is a flex fuel vehicle which the report says will be alright with E85 or E15.

Of course the old lady wants me to get her something newer so I will have to keep that in mind and train her to not use E15.

Is it even available anywhere in CO ?

e15 wont hurt a thing. Hell e85 doesnt hurt a thing. The only draw back to e15 you'll see is slightly decreased gas mileage. The biggest side effect will be the ECU will have to add a little more fuel commanded to meet the correct air/fuel ratio. I've ran my car on e85 since 08 and have never had an issue yet with the proper sized fuel system and tune.

My brother put cheap fuel in his Saturn Ion several years ago, like 2005. He car is about that year. Anyway, it stopped running a couple miles down the road. Come to find out he put in E85 since it was cheaper. Drained the tank, flushed the lines, put petrol in there and away he went.

It feels a little like the ULSD thing a few years ago.
