Post subject: | MO-KS-CO parts shuttle |
Over the course of the next 6-8 weeks I will be embarking on a Berlin airlift of sorts. Minus the aircraft. And Germans. And Soviet blockade. So, not so much like a Berlin airlift. I'm going to be emptying the contents of my garage and shed into the back of my truck and onto my trailer, along with two more Broncos, for the journey to Kansas City. My shuttles are currently planned to be a Friday departure and Sunday return. I have not set specific dates yet, but the first shuttle might be occurring as soon as 16 January. I am offering, free of charge, to shuttle parts to and from Kansas City, MO and all points between. There will be a few rules that accompany this, so let's get them out of the way now. 1. Anything you need for me to deliver needs to be brought to me, here, in Colorado Springs. To my house. If we're talking big stuff that requires loading and unloading, blah blah blah, we can discuss and maybe work something out. But, I cannot be running up and down the front range picking up parts. 2. I am going to restrict the deliveries to within 5 miles of Highway 24 in Colorado and Interstate 70 between Limon and Kansas City, MO. For anything delivered to the KCMO area, It's probably best that pick up occur at my dad's house where I will be staying. Again, special arrangements can be made, on a case by case basis. 3. Anything you want brought back from KCMO, or any location east of "here", needs to be picked up within 5 miles of the previously mentioned roadways. Topeka might look small and easily navigable on Google maps, but an additional 2 hours tacked on to a 10 hour drive SUCKS. Case by case exceptions. 4. Size will be a factor. On at least two trips east, I will have a Bronco on the trailer. Naturally, the trailer will be empty on the return route. Sooooo, me hauling a Bronco east for you is going to be out of the question. Unless, of course, you want to talk on the side about me actually hauling a Bronco for you. But, the primary purpose of these trips is to move all the giant chunks of steel that either the government movers are not going to do or I don't want them doing. 5. Money. Please, please, please, please, PLEEEEEEEASE, work out something with the person you are buying or selling to that does NOT involve me acting as your bag man. I have a hard enough time keeping track of what I've bought and want to buy, you really don't want me out there negotiating your parts purchases and sales. I don't think any of these are really unreasonable requests considering the price I'm offering for the service. If I'm wrong, please tell me so. Sooooo, get to shopping and advertising. There are plenty of Bronco owners out there in that 600+ stretch of nothing. I'm sure you're all tired of moving parts up and down I-25. Time to branch out. |

Next run to KC will be 30 Jan with a return shot on 31 Jan. I'll follow that with a 5 February departure and 7 February return. |
