Post subject: | Garage chairs |
So I have this set of 70's vintage seats from a dodge chassis " jamboree " motor home. They are in really good condition with no rips or tears. I would like to convert them into garage chairs. Ideally rolling chairs. I just need to figure out the bases. Perhaps using coil springs as the base post. It would be easiest to use bases from old office desk chairs but old car and bronco parts would be much cooler. I thought I had my old stock springs from the 74 but I must have scrapped them so I'll need to find another set. I think Home Depot casters ought to work well for rollers but I still need something to attach them to. Maybe piston rods or something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm planning to use a set of bronco seats and bend up some tube for legs. But I do have a bunch of partial radius arms from the last build day..... |

I think a coil spring would be too wobbly alone... Those chairs might buck you off!! Whatever, you do, use LARGE wheels. Small ones will stop on every little rock or nut on the floor. Something to store tools and parts in might be useful. |

Leaf springs, u bolts and a few pieces of scrap from the junk pile and we have a lounge chair. The other one will be on wheels and a swivel when the proper pieces present themselves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
