I hope so. I've had a chance to drive the T6 Ranger and I want one. Sadly that truck highlights how impractical the North American car market is. Here is a vehicle that can do everything well, because that is what its market demands, and yet they won't sell it here because it would have hurt the sales of less practical vehicles. Ford didn't even considered it because they wanted to keep pushing F150s on everyone. (Also why they quit dumping development dollars into the North American Ranger 15 years ago, until it became a dinosaur and they had to kill it.) BUT Chevy and Toyota are fueling a surge in the small truck market that Ford can't ignore anymore and they are now behind the 8-ball. Lucky for them, they have this awesome little truck that they have been selling all over the world (minus North America) that would be a great competitor, and with a few tweaks they could make it an SUV and call it a Bronco. Sadly it will be IFS, but that suspension is a near copy of the Tacoma IFS and it performs well on and off highway. |

Why did they quit making the Ranger? The US .gov fuel mileage requirements. The bigger the truck the lower the gas mileage needs to be for it to be legally sold in the US. So we get big heavy F150's, that weigh as much as an F250 did (or more). Ford knew it was selling, what they didn't know was how to get the gas mileage high enough to keep on selling it here. |

I attended the Ford Product review in Denver earlier this year. They wouldnt give a official confirmation; however, they did give a strong hint this is the case |

I miss pickups the size of the old compact ranger. I like smaller cars, but would love to have the option of something that size in a crew cab that doesn't have 150,000 miles on it. |

In Mexico they sold the Ranger as a crew cab version, here's a diesel one for sale. Not sure how old the add is, but I've seen a couple 2wd ones here in New Mexico. Would've loved to have one! http://www.2040-cars.com/Ford/Ranger/20 ... el-507859/ Here's a forum on it that shows a couple more pics. http://www.fordrangerforum.com/general- ... -trac.html |
