Post subject:  Alpine Tunnel/Williams Pass

There was major damage to the Palisades section of the road to Alpine Tunnel this winter. A large avalanche or rock slide caused the hand stacked section of road to collapse. Pretty amazing it stood for 135 years before this happened.

The guy I bought the 72 E/S from works for the USFS and said it won't open this summer for sure. And Williams Pass is past the damaged section of road, so it won't open either.

Well that's a bummer but it is amazing its stood the test of time this far. Iam sure it will be repaired sooner or later it's a pretty cool area.
