Best day ever!

Best day ever!

Postby EFI Guy » Sun Sep 11, 2016 12:02 pm

I'm still at a loss for words!

Yesterday my wife decided we needed to have some friends and family over for beer and pizza. I was kind of hesitant on the idea because I'm so buried in work. Little did I know many of these friends are from Colorado Classic Broncos and had been conspiring with her for a couple of months. When Viperwolf showed up he handed me a funny t-shirt that kind of rubbed it in that I still didn't have an EB yet. The guys have been giving me grief because I've been hanging out with the club for a couple years and still don't own one. Here's the shirt.

Image

So, after a couple of beers and some chit-chat, I was pretty much oblivious to the fact that CascadeJohnson had pulled up outside in his Powerstroke with a trailer. I was then lured outside by D&D72 and that's when this happened...

Shortly after the video cut off I found another shirt on the drivers seat. This had been made by D&D72 and his wife and it made things just a little more official. It was at that point that the dust from this old turd caused my allergies to act up a little bit.

Image

I really can't thank you all enough for making this happen! I know many of you provided Michelle with very valuable insight on this! Thank you again Cascadejohnson, D&D72, Viperwolf, Moab Mike, Roxcrusher, Plumbdoctor, Kbank, and anyone else I may have missed. Words can't describe how grateful I am to be able to call all of you guys my friends!

Here's some pix of the old turd. She's ugly as sin, I count 11 different colors, but all in all she's extremely solid with very little rust. It has a 77 disc brake 44 in front, a big bearing 9 inch in back, several different transmissions and t-cases, the most awesome set of seats I've ever seen, a bishin center console and new-ish carpet. front suspension looks to be Duff parts but I'm not exactly sure what I've got there yet. Engine is supposed to be a fresh 302 but you all know how that goes. There are a ton of extra parts that I won't use that will be traded for body work etc... I still haven't inventoried everything yet.

That's great! I heard some rumors about something like this. Glad it materialized.

Thanks guys. I just read the thread where all of the conspiracy happened. It sounds like she formed a commision to help her find the perfect Bronco. She wouldn't pull the trigger until she had the thumbs up from everyone. You all did good helping her find the perfect one. Huge thanks to Jeremy for storing this thing and towing it all the way down here!

I have gotten out of sanding and sealing the deck of my trailer for about a month because it was occupied by " Project sneaky Bronco". I guess I can't use that as an excuse any longer! Honestly, I can't believe we were all able to keep the secret that long. Now we can say "Welcome to the Club" and it has a whole new meaning!

You should make a list of stuff your looking for / need and post it up. I bet our collective parts hoards can supply some of what you need and save you a few $

I think I may have radiator brackets as well
