Figured since there are quite a few trailers in the group, a thread about them might be good. And to kick it off... Tires. My trailer, a 20' dovetail, has had three flat tires now. Oddly enough they've all been on I 70 in Junction City, KS. Currently I am running the same size that was in when I bought it; 205/75/15, Load C. If'n some of you fellas wouldn't mind, could ya tell me your general trailer specs and tire sizes you're running? |

My trailer: 7000 lb, 20' tilt deck, 2300 lbs dry weight. Trailer came with 205/75 15 bias plys. Tires were junk, I burned them up after a few years. Upgraded to 235/75R15 Radials Load D. Tows better and less heat generated from the tires when traveling fully loaded at 75mph. |

Bulldog connector I really like the trailer. I bought it with the DOT package, so I got the better connector, dual axle brakes, extra lighting, etc. |

The upgrades were definitely worth the extra $200-300 I paid for the trailer. This summer, now that it is 10 years old, I dumped another $800 into the trailer to re-deck, re-wire, upgrade to LEDS, re-paint, and re-brake it. Combined with the original purchased price, I'm still under what a new one costs. Trailers are expensive. If I had known then what I know now, I would have bought two and sold one. |
